Would this trade make sense for the Charlotte Hornets?
This may seem like a lot of assets for the Charlotte Hornets to give up, but in the grand scheme of things, it could help them be a better all-around team. They desperately need some high-level defenders, and this trade would get them just that.
Myles Turner has led the league in blocks multiple times, and is on pace to do so once again this season. His defensive prowess would give the Hornets a much-needed anchor in the paint, and would turn Mason Plumlee (a low-level starter) into a high-level backup.
In addition, Turner’s ability to space the floor would give the Charlotte Hornets a whole new look on offense. He would be able to space the floor for LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges just like PJ Washington did. The big difference? Turner is much taller and a much better interior defender.
Plus, Charlotte would get two solid veteran defenders in this deal. Both Torrey Craig and Justin Holiday could get rotational minutes in Charlotte and help them shore things up on the perimeter. Each of them is very active out on the perimeter.

Overall, Turner would be able to grow with Ball and Bridges into the future, while also helping them win right now. His skillset would complement the rest of Charlotte’s beautifully. They should absolutely consider a deal like this.
