The Phoenix Suns are currently over the salary cap, but they are about $8M under the tax line for this season and they do have some moveable contracts, starting with that of Dario Saric.
After tearing his ACL in the NBA Finals, Saric has not played for the Suns this season and is likely going to miss the rest of the season as he continues his rehab.
The 27-year-old stretch big man played really well in Phoenix last season, but it is hard to envision him having a role moving forward with JaVale McGee now in town.
Dario Saric is making $8.5M this season and then $9.2M next season, making him a player that the Suns could move to free up immediate cap space for someone like Christian Wood.

Many teams in the league may not want to take on Saric’s contract knowing that he could very well sit out the entire season, but he is an experienced big man who can do a lot of things on the floor when healthy.
As for Cam Johnson, he has really come into his own over the last several months and is one of the better perimeter players off-the-bench in this league.
In 38 games this season, Johnson has averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and has shot 46.4% from the floor, 44.4% from three-point range on over 200 attempts. The third-year forward is not someone the Suns want to give up and for good reason, but he may very well be the selling point in a potential trade for someone like Christian Wood.
Jae Crowder has not been bad whatsoever for the Suns as their “power-forward”, but the addition of Christian Wood could be immense for this franchise. He is yet another guy that can take pressure off of Ayton on both ends of the floor, as well as make the Suns an even better offensive team than they already are.
