The Oklahoma City Thunder are going to be a team plenty of people keep an eye on in the coming weeks leading up to the NBA trade deadline. They have a few players that could be of interest to contending teams, with Kenrich Williams leading the way.

Williams is going to be a popular name in trade rumors and the Golden State Warriors could very well be involved. He is someone that will fit in perfectly for contending teams as he can make an impact without the ball being in his hands.

The TCU product is a capable shooter, knocking down 38.4 percent of his attempts this season after making 44.4 percent last season. That fits perfectly into the Warriors’ scheme, as he is also capable of a little playmaking.

Defensively is where Williams provides his most value. He can defend multiple positions, as anyone on the wing and at both forward spots he can match up with. Teams can never have enough defensive-minded players and Williams should be relatively cheap to acquire.

On a $2 million contract, it would be easy to match that in a trade. Golden State has multiple trade exceptions they could absorb Williams’ contract into if the Thunder does not want to take a player back in the deal and just accept draft compensation.
