Would this trade make sense for the Philadelphia 76ers?
Although the Philadelphia 76ers wouldn’t be getting an All-Star, they’d be getting someone who has the potential to be one in the future. With how well Tyrese Haliburton has been playing lately, he clearly has the potential to be an All-Star at some point in the near future.
Getting a guard with that much potential to run the offense next to Joel Embiid would be a huge win for the Sixers. Over Sacramento’s last ten games, Haliburton is averaging 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 50.9 percent from deep.
Harrison Barnes would be a great piece for them moving forward, too. Barnes got off to a hot start to the season this year, and despite cooling off a bit, is still a great two-way wing. His floor spacing and versatile defense would be a huge help to Philadelphia.
Marvin Bagley III likely wouldn’t play a huge role on the 76ers, but he could be dealt to a third team if they wanted to get more value out of him. He’s in the last year of his rookie deal, so some young teams may be willing to take a chance on him.

This would be quite the haul for Simmons, especially as his value continues to go down. Haliburton and Barnes would help Philadelphia both now, and moving forward throughout Embiid’s prime. What about the Kings? Why would they make this deal?
