The Player The Miami Heat Should Target
The Miami Heat are very limited in what they will have available to trade leading up to the NBA trade deadline. KZ Okpala is likely their most tradeable asset, especially midseason. If they were to swing for the fences and acquire an All-Star, it would require breaking up their core, a move that is easier to execute in the offseason.
With that in mind, the Heat will be doing some bargain shopping. They could use some depth in the frontcourt, namely at power forward. It wouldn’t hurt to add a wing either, as depth, in general, is what Miami will set its sights on.
Arguably the spot they could use some veteran experience at the most is in the backcourt. With that in mind, it would make a lot of sense for the Heat to check in on the availability of Cory Joseph of the Detroit Pistons.
Joseph would fit in well with the second unit as someone that provides an impact defensively, can shoot the 3-ball a little bit and run the offense. Miami has been using Tyler Herro as its backup point guard a lot with Gabe Vincent mixing in.
