The Indiana Pacers are a franchise that does not want to look to undergo a tear-down to tank for the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft. They are wired to compete to make the playoffs every year.
It has become increasingly challenging for the Pacers to achieve their minimum goal of making the playoffs after the Eastern Conference has undergone such significant improvement.
Now, the Pacers do not have nearly enough top-level talent to compete with most teams in the Eastern Conference and find themselves ranked ahead of only the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons in the standings.
The playoffs seem like a major long shot at this point for the Pacers, but that doesn’t mean the Los Angeles Lakers should give them a call to see if they’d be interested in Westbrook.
