Test the New Orleans Pelicans’ Desperation
There were high hopes for the New Orleans Pelicans entering the 2021-22 season. Zion Williamson’s ongoing foot injury quickly put a damper on those expectations.
Now, the Pelicans find themselves with Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas trying to do what they can to help the team win games. It’s been a challenge when considering the lack of talent in the supporting cast around them.
The Pelicans made a significant attempt to try to sign for Kyle Lowry in the offseason and were offering him more money than any other team. New Orleans still was unable to land his services. Even Tim Hardaway Jr. turned down quite a bit more money to bypass the Pelicans to stay with the Dallas Mavericks.
At some point, it’s time for the Pelicans to admit they are not going to be able to make additions who seem to be perfect fits and probably overpay to do it.
