Ideal Player For Los Angeles Lakers Should Pursue

The Los Angeles Lakers need some specific things to help upgrade their current roster. Upgrading the wing, specifically at small forward, and adding some more 3-point shooting should be on their to-do list.

They will likely place a call to the Detroit Pistons, but it will be difficult to pry Jerami Grant from them. Will a package of Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn and a future first-round pick be enough to entice the Pistons? Unlikely, especially if Grant’s market is as robust as being reported.

Instead, the Lakers should be aiming a little lower. Someone such as Kenrich Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder would be the perfect trade target for Los Angeles. He fits all their needs as a versatile forward that can also stretch the floor.

Williams is averaging 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 20.7 minutes per game. He has made 38.9 percent of his 3-point attempts this season after knocking down 44.4 percent last season, bringing a lot to the table that the Lakers are missing.
