Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Terrence Ross, G E’Twaun Moore
Orlando Magic Receive: G Talen Horton-Tucker, G Kendrick Nunn, CHI 2023 2nd Round Pick (via LAL)
The Los Angeles Lakers have zero trade assets through the years and are well over the salary cap, but they could look to trade Talen Horton-Tucker ($9.5M) and Kendrick Nunn ($5M) for value. Together, they are making a combined $14.5M this season, meaning that the Lakers do have an avenue to adding another weapon to their roster.
Terrence Ross is not the difference in them making the NBA Finals this season, but he is an experienced scorer in this league that has converted himself into a really dangerous bench scorer in this league.
Last season, Ross ranked 10th in the league in total bench points scored and so far through 29 games this season, he ranks 9th in the league in total bench points scored.
For his career, Terrence Ross has shot 36.4% from three-point range and is a consistent threat on the wing. You know what you are getting with a guy like Ross, which is more than can be said about half of the Lakers’ roster right now.

Los Angeles does not necessarily want to get rid of Talen Horton-Tucker, as they signed him to a three-year, $30.7M deal in the offseason, but he is their only path to adding more talent to their roster.
Not to mention, Horton-Tucker really has not been that impressive in a Lakers’ uniform other than a couple breakout performances here and there.
As for Kendrick Nunn, the Lakers signed him in the offseason to a small deal, but he has yet to play this season and it is hard to see where he will fit into the picture with Russell Westbrook and LeBron James being the primary ball-handlers for this team.
Orlando has plenty of young talent in their backcourt already with Markelle Fultz, R.J. Hampton, Jalen Suggs and Cole Anthony, but both Nunn and Horton-Tucker could be versatile building blocks for the future.
