Does this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?
Change is coming for this Los Angeles Lakers’ organization and the only way they can make this possible is by trading Talen Horton-Tucker and Kendrick Nunn.
Quite honestly, the Lakers should be trying to move these two guys for absolutely any kind of impactful talent at this point because neither Horton-Tucker nor Nunn have done anything for this organization.
Talen Horton-Tucker was just given a three-year, $30.7M contract in the offseason, but he ranks 6th on the Lakers in scoring and has scored at least 10 points in just half of the games he has played this season.
Being nothing more than a role player on the perimeter that shoots 22.1% from three-point range, it is hard to imagine Talen Horton-Tucker emerging as the guy that solves the Lakers mysteries.

As for Kendrick Nunn, well, I could not tell you his importance to the Lakers this season because he has not played at all! Maybe Nunn could provide some depth in the backcourt for the Lakers, but again, is he the difference in this team solving their problems?
The answer in regards to both of the Lakers’ young players is a huge “NO,” which is why moving them for Bogdan Bogdanovic makes sense.
Contract-wise, taking on Bogdanvoic’s contract is risky, but any move the Lakers make at this point is risky as long as they are paying three guys over $120M in a year, especially if one of those players does not fit in whatsoever.
Bogdanovic is a high-level three-point shooting threat that could thrive off-the-ball in Los Angeles, which is why the Lakers should do everything in their power to make this trade work.
