The Los Angeles Lakers are in big trouble this season and it is all because of the Russell Westbrook trade they made. Westbrook has not fit in whatsoever in Los Angeles and his contract is a poison that the Lakers cannot get rid of. 

Russell Westbrook is a great talent and a future Hall-of-Famer, but he does not fit in with LeBron James and Anthony Davis whatsoever. They are not going to be able to trade him for anything, which is why the only hope the Lakers have is moving Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, and someone else for another high-level talent. 

Jerami Grant would be a terrific acquisition for the Los Angeles Lakers and fill an immediate void they have on the wing as a terrific two-way talent, but it is hard to imagine the Pistons budging on anything the Lakers have to offer. 

Horton-Tucker has shown flashes of his full potential, but he has also had plenty of “dud” games this season. Kendrick Nunn has yet to play a game this season due to injuries and Los Angeles has no valuable draft picks to ship to Detroit in this deal.

Going after Jerami Grant is certainly a great move for the Los Angeles Lakers to make, but it is very hard to imagine that they can pull a few teams together to make this deal worthwhile for the Pistons. 

Los Angeles has put itself in a very tough spot financially and they may not be able to get out of this hole that they have dug until Westbrook’s contract expires.
