New York Knicks Receive: G Terrence Ross

While they started the season 5-1 and looked like a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference yet again, the New York Knicks are only 16-18 on the season. They are slowly working their way back into the playoff picture this season, but this start for New York definitely has to be disappointing after they claimed the 4-seed a season ago.
Derrick Rose is out indefinitely after ankle surgery and with their bench not having the best of scoring depth, the Knicks could really use a difference-maker offensively in their second unit. Having a little bit of cap space and some movable contracts, going after Terrence Ross could make a ton of sense for the Knicks.
Ross is now in his 10th NBA season, 6th with the Orlando Magic, and has turned himself into one of the best bench scorers in the league over the years.
Last season, Terrence Ross averaged career-highs in points (15.6), assists (2.3), field goals made (5.5) and he shot 41.2% from the floor. So far through 28 games this season, all of which he has come off-the-bench in Orlando, the veteran wing is averaging 11.1 points per game and shooting 39.4% from the floor.

Given his experiences in this league and the fact that he ranked 10th in the NBA in bench points last season, Terrence Ross could be an excellent addition for the New York Knicks, who are looking to add production on the wing.
Giving up rookie Quentin Grimes could be a tough ask for the Knicks, but New York does have Miles McBride, Immanuel Quickley, Kemba Walker, and Derrick Rose under contract.
Grimes has played here and there this season, but it is hard to see where he is going to fit in the picture in terms of this team making the playoffs moving forward.
The Magic are going to be looking to trade Ross this season with him only having one year left on his contract after this season and with rebuilding, they should be interested in young assets like Knox, Grimes and draft picks.

Terrence Ross is affordable, he is productive and most importantly, he can be a “sixth-man-like” scorer in this league, which is why he would greatly help the New York Knicks this season.
