Does this trade make sense for the Memphis Grizzlies?
If the Detroit Pistons were interested in this trade offer from Memphis, it is definitely not a bad deal for the Grizzlies to pursue, but at the same time, Jerami Grant’s fit could definitely be in question. Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks and Jaren Jackson Jr. have all played well this season, so where would they put Grant in their rotations?
Taylor Jenkins and his coaching staff would surely move some things around, that way Jerami Grant is in the starting rotation and giving them the production they need, but Memphis may not need to make this trade in order to be successful in the Western Conference this season.
Ja Morant, the Grizzlies’ best player, has missed 12 games this season, yet they have found success given their depth and currently have the fourth-best record in the Western Conference as a result.
Making any kind of big trade could really hurt the Grizzlies’ chemistry, which is a risk they should not be willing to take. Both Jerami Grant and Cory Joseph could absolutely help increase the talent-level on this roster, but Kyle Anderson and De’Anthony Melton play key roles for this team.

Taking one out of the equation not only messes with Memphis’ rotations, but they would take a step back in terms of guys being comfortable with one another out on the court.
