The Los Angeles Lakers have really been struggling this NBA season and while they are 16-15, this team is going to have a really hard time figuring things out in their frontcourt with Anthony Davis out. On December 17 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Davis suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee and has been ruled out for at least four weeks.
The injury occurred after Jaden McDaniels was pushed by LeBron James and unfortunately, Davis was in the wrong spot at the wrong time. McDaniels fell into the All-Star big man’s left leg and caused his knee/leg to bend awkwardly.
Anthony Davis is the Lakers’ best defender and quite honestly, he has been the only big man producing for them all season long. DeAndre Jordan and Dwight Howard have been non-existent at times for the Lakers and outside of them, this team has no frontcourt depth to try and replace Davis.
Not only does a tremendous amount of weight now fall on the shoulders of LeBron James, but Los Angeles is left scrambling for answers as Anthony Davis may not return until sometime in February now.
