Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G/F Caris LeVert, G/F Norman Powell, F Larry Nance Jr.
Portland Trail Blazers Receive: G/F Ben Simmons, C Myles Turner, G/F Danny Green
Indiana Pacers Receive: G CJ McCollum, F Nassir Little, C Cody Zeller, POR 2022 2nd Round Pick, POR 2024 1st Round Pick (Lottery-Protected, conveys two years after obligation to CHI in 2022)

It is going to be very unlikely that any trade involving Ben Simmons gets done just involving the Philadelphia 76ers and the other team that they are shipping the 3x All-Star to. Because of cap situations and the fact that the 76ers are wanting a ton of value in return, at least one other team will be involved and in this trade, it is the Indiana Pacers.

Currently 13-18 in the Eastern Conference, the Pacers are another team that has underachieved and struggled this season. A rebuild is on the horizon for them and according to Shams Charania, the Pacers are going to be receptive to trade offers centered around Caris LeVert and Myles Turner.

Finding ways to improve for the future is the main goal of the Pacers right now, which adding CJ McCollum, Nassir Little, Cody Zeller and draft picks at the expense of both LeVert and Turner could be appealing to them.

Maybe Zeller does not bring much value, but he would be a “replacement” this season for Turner and the Pacers would be adding another scorer in McCollum that they so desperately need. As for Little, he provides some much needed depth and young talent out on the wing.

In Philadelphia, getting their hands on high-level talents to contend for a title is their number one priority. They may not be getting an All-Star in this deal, but Caris LeVert, Norman Powell and Larry Nance Jr. bring a ton of experience and scoring to the 76ers.

Together, these three players are combining to average 40.7 points per game on the season, bringing a ton of offensive value to the Philadelphia 76ers. As for Portland, well they get what they want in Ben Simmons and continue to add defensive talent.

Simmons is one of the best all-around defenders in the NBA, Myles Turner is arguably the best shot-blocker in the NBA and Danny Green has made a living in the NBA for over a decade being a terrific “3-and-D” player. All three guys improve the Portland Trail Blazers defensively and they may not take too bad of a hit on offense.

They would still have Damian Lillard running the show and with Ben Simmons being utilized in pick-and-roll sets, the Blazers could suddenly become a strong scoring team in the paint.

However, there are a lot of moving pieces in this trade and it is possible one team may not want to give up too much value.
