Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards began the season 14-8 and they were at the top of the Eastern Conference standings for a week or so, but they have since lost 7 of their last 9 games and are now just 16-15 on the season.

Bradley Beal can only do so much for this Wizards’ team and with them averaging 32.2% from deep on the season as a team, it is hard to imagine that they will be able to outscore many teams in this league.

Adding more shooting depth is essential for the Wizards if they are to make a real playoff push this season and Buddy Hield would be an excellent addition for them. Not only could he play off of guys like Kyle Kuzma and Bradley Beal on the perimeter wall, but he would be the missing three-point shooting that Davis Bertans has not given this team.

The Wizards invested $65M into Bertans not too long ago because of his value as a three-point shooter, but he is shooting just 29.9% from deep this season and is a major liability. Maybe the Kings will not want him, but Davis Bertans is the key to the Wizards upgrading their roster with Buddy Hield.

Trading him and possibly even Montrezl Harrell, someone the Kings were interested in from the Lakers originally, could be enough for the Kings to accept this trade, especially if they are getting some draft compensation as well.

Washington needs more talent on their roster and right now, they do not have the ability to win a lot of games the way their roster is constructed. They are not good enough defensively to remain relevant in the Eastern Conference playoff picture and with their offense being dormant out on the perimeter, they will have a hard time beating some of the better teams in this league.

Buddy Hield brings a lot of value to this team because of his three-point shooting abilities and while his contract is a lot to take on, making this move should be enough for the Wizards to contend for a real playoff spot and not one in the play-in tournament.
