In an NBA trade scenario proposed by Hoops Habit’s Dan Bennett, the Indiana Pacers would send Domantas Sabonis along with Oshae Brissett to the Boston Celtics — receiving Marcus Smart, Robert Williams, and a pair of first round picks in return.

The Pacers would take on roughly $24.2 million in salaries between Smart and Williams III. Smart is owed $13.8 million this season while Williams III’s $3.6 million deal becomes $10.3 million due to the poison pill provision.
The Celtics would also gain nearly $2.7 million in net salary with Domantas Sabonis, who is earning $18.5 million, being the focus of the return. Oshae Brissett earns just $1.7 million.

Sabonis is signed through the 2023-24 season and will be 27-years-old when his deal is done. The Celtics would gain his Bird rights and could re-sign him exceeding the salary cap as a result.
