Does this trade make sense for the Oklahoma City Thunder?
Pursuing Mo Bamba would be a great move for the Oklahoma City Thunder to make prior to the trade deadline this season because of the lack of depth they have in their frontcourt. Mike Muscala and Derrick Favors are their two centers right now, but neither play is going to be in OKC long-term.
The Thunder are expected to pursue trades for both Favors and Muscala leading up to the deadline this season and not only would they get what they want in moving Derrick Favors, but they would be adding a difference-maker at the center position.
Mo Bamba has turned himself into a respected rebounder and shot-blocker in this league and the best part is that he is only 23-years-old. The Thunder could pair Bamba with other young talents for many more years to come and he could be the anchor for them in the paint.
Adding Taurean Prince does not do much for Oklahoma City, but he is in the final year of his contract, brings them closer to the salary cap floor they need to reach and is another guy that could help young forwards like Darius Bazley, Aleksej Pokusevski and others improve their skills.

Gabriel Deck does not seem like someone the Thunder are too invested in long-term, nor are Kenrich Williams and Derrick Favors, so at the cost of a first-round pick that they can spare, Oklahoma City can add a difference-maker in their frontcourt.
