Boston Celtics Receive: F JaMychal Green, DEN 2026 2nd Round Pick
Denver Nuggets Receive: G Dennis Schroder
Denver does not have any cap space right now, so if they are to go after a player like Dennis Schroder, they will need to either move JaMychal Green or Monte Morris.
Given how well Morris has played and the fact that Denver wants to keep him around, Green would end up being the “odd-man-out” for them in this trade.
JaMychal Green has always been a reliable big man over the course of his career, but the Nuggets do not really need him. They have Jeff Green, who can play numerous different positions, and with both Aaron Gordon and Bol Bol as well, the Nuggets could look to leverage the veteran big man now.
Boston has Al Horford, Robert Williams and Enes “Kanter” Freedom in their frontcourt, but JaMychal Green could be an appealing name for them to add in a trade involving Dennis Schroder.

Getting Payton Pritchard more involved is something Boston would like to do at the expense of Schroder and Green could make an impact as a “3-and-D” player in the frontcourt.
For his career, JaMychal Green has averaged 8.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and has shot 37% from three-point range.
He found success as a bench talent on the Clippers and is doing so again with the Nuggets, which is why he could be a solid addition for the Celtics as they look to be playoff threats in the Eastern Conference.
The Denver Nuggets do not necessarily need to make a move for another guard since they have Monte Morris, Facundo Campazzo and “Bones” Hyland, but Dennis Schroder could turn out to be a good fit next to Nikola Jokic on offense.

Schroder is known to be a crafty, downhill driver to the rim and with Jokic being the primary facilitator and ball-handler on this team, the veteran guard could wind up being a nice off-ball piece. Nikola Jokic runs a lot of dribble-handoff actions on offense and given Dennis Schroder’s explosiveness and first-step, he could get around the MVP and be on the receiving end of a lot of good looks at the rim.
If Denver is to remain relevant in the Western Conference this season, they may have to make some of their veteran talents available in a trade and while Schroder is not the biggest name they could go after, he could certainly make an impact.
