Does this trade make sense for the Atlanta Hawks?
Adding another facilitator and secondary scorer like Kemba Walker in the backcourt could wind up making a lot of sense for the Atlanta Hawks seeing as Delon Wright and Lou Williams have not been the best bench guards for this team, but at the same time, the Hawks are going to get a lot of interest in Cam Reddish over the next several weeks should they look to trade him.
Being only 22-years-old and still on his rookie contract, Reddish is the epitome of what every team around the league is searching for, which is why the Hawks may not be able to just get a first-round pick for him, but an impactful role player as well.
Kemba Walker certainly carries some “name value” with him in this trade, but he is not the best talent that the Hawks could get along with a first-round pick for Reddish this season.
Plus, the whole reason for trading Cam Reddish is to cut some future cap space and by acquiring Kemba Walker, they would not be doing so. Walker is owed $8.7M this season and then $9.2M next season.

At that rate, Atlanta would be better off just keeping Reddish since they know what they are going to get with him! Trading Cam Reddish and Delon Wright in a trade to get back a first-round pick and a role player is something that definitely makes sense for this franchise, but Kemba Walker is not the right player they should be wanting in return.
