Atlanta Hawks Receive: G Dennis Schroder, BOS 2023 1st Round Pick (Top-8 Protected)
Boston Celtics Receive: G/F Cam Reddish
Going after Cam Reddish is a move that should not surprise many Boston Celtics fans, especially since their bench has not had a lot of scoring talent on it for years now. Last season, Boston ranked 28th in bench points per game and so far through 27 games this season, they rank 28th in bench points per game.
Adding another scorer on the wing, who is also young and still on his rookie contract, is highly favorable to this team. While he has been dealing with a wrist injury that has forced him to miss some time this season, Cam Reddish is averaging 11.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals and is shooting 37% from three-point range this season.
Having all the attributes to be an impactful “3-and-D” type player on the wing, Reddish can be another scorer Boston can depend on for production outside of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Josh Richardson has been solid, as has Marcus Smart at times, but this team needs more weapons that can score in a variety of ways. Whether it is shooting from the perimeter or driving to the basket, Cam Reddish is definitely a player that can fit this mold for Boston.

Acquiring Dennis Schroder and putting him back in a Hawks uniform is not only a move that Atlanta’s fan-base would likely welcome, but Trae Young as well.
Delon Wright and Lou Williams are two veteran guards on the Hawks bench, but neither guy has been overly impressive this season.
Neither guy is averaging double-digit scoring numbers and with both guys not really being a factor on offense, all the weight of being this team’s only facilitator and ball-handler falls on the shoulders of Young.

Not only can Dennis Schroder take pressure off of Trae Young to be this team’s primary ball-handler, but Schroder has been having an excellent season in Boston playing off of Jayson Tatum.
Currently averaging 17.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and shooting 44.5% from the floor, Dennis Schroder is the perfect secondary guard for the Atlanta Hawks to add. He is only under contract for this season and could make a positive difference in Atlanta making it back to the playoffs this season.
