Indiana Pacers Receive: G Derrick White, G Lonnie Walker IV, SAS 2023 1st Round Pick (Swap, More Favorable to IND), SAS 2024 1st Round Pick (Top-5 Protected, Top-3 Protected in 2025, if not conveyed, then SAS 2025 and 2026 2nd Round Picks)
San Antonio Spurs Receive: F Domantas Sabonis
For the Spurs to have a shot at acquiring Domantas Sabonis, it is going to take a lot of persuasions on their end of things, as well as them giving up some key, young assets. Dejoutne Murray would probably be off-limits, as would Keldon Johnson, leaving Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV, Devin Vassell, and Joshua Primo as the four key talents Indiana would target from the Spurs.
In this deal, only White and Walker would be traded, but the Pacers could very well want Devin Vassell attached to this trade as well instead of the first-round pick swap.
At some point, San Antonio is going to have to be willing to sacrifice one or two of their young assets for a star player like Sabonis and if this opportunity presents itself, creating a trio of Murray, Johnson and Sabonis could be too much to pass up on for the Spurs.
Dejounte Murray has had a breakout season to this point in the year, Keldon Johnson is continuing to grow into a dynamic forward that can play either in the low-post or on the wing, and Domantas Sabonis could be the anchor for this team offensively.

On the year, Sabonis is averaging 18.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and is shooting 58% from the floor. He is one of the best offensive big men in the entire league and given his ability to facilitate as well, he and Murray could be extremely tough to stop in pick-and-roll sets.
As for Indiana, getting their hands on Dejounte Murray or Keldon Johnson would surely be something they would be interested in, but Derrick White is a really strong-looking 27-years-old combo-guard that could fit in nicely next to Malcolm Brogdon in the backcourt.
Now in his 5th NBA season, White has averaged 11.1 points, 3.6 assists, and has shot 34.7% from three-point range for his career, making him on the verge of breaking out into an impactful starter. As for Lonnie Walker, he is an athletic rotational player that can be a “spark” for this Pacers franchise.
While they are trending towards a rebuild, Indiana just needs young, dynamic talents wherever they can get them. Both White and Walker are surely these kinds of players and they would not only provide immediate scoring but give the Pacers more depth than they already have.
