For the first time in their history as an NBA franchise, the San Antonio Spurs missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons last year and now, they are in danger of missing the playoffs for a third consecutive season.

DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay, and Patty Mills all departed the Spurs in the offseason, leaving them with no identity and a handful of young talents.

However, these young players like Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, and Keldon Johnson have given this fanbase hope that the Spurs can once again rebuild themselves into real contenders.

While they are just 8-15 on the season, the Spurs have been a competitive team and have picked up some impressive wins. At the same time though, this team is still a long way away from being a threat and they are going to need to pursue another star-like player in the near future.

The Indiana Pacers have also struggled to begin the 2021-22 season and on Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the team is heading towards a rebuild and could be interested in hearing offers for some of their best talents.

Myles Turner and Caris LeVert were both mentioned as possible players the Pacers will look to trade away, as was All-Star forward Domantas Sabonis.

Outside of Jakob Poeltl, the Spurs do not really have much frontcourt talent and this is a team that has been searching for answers at the power-forward position ever since Tim Duncan retired following the 2015-16 season.
