Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: F/C Christian Wood, F Danuel House Jr.
In order to have a shot at landing Christian Wood, the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to have to leverage some of their young assets and draft picks. Leandro Bolmaro and Malik Beasley could be two guys the Timberwolves would have to trade away, but in this trade package, they would be sending Josh Okogie and Jaden McDaniels to Houston.
Okogie was drafted 20th overall by Minnesota in 2018 and is in the final year of his rookie contract. While he is not much of an offensive-minded talent, Josh Okogie is a terrific perimeter defender and often draws the assignment of guarding the opposing team’s best talent.
Possessing a 7’0” wingspan while only being 6’4”, Josh Okogie checks off all the boxes for being a high-level defender in this league and could make a difference off the bench for this young Houston team that struggles defensively.
Jaden McDaniels is another young prospect that not only shows high potential on defense because of him being 6’9”, but on offense as well. Now in his second season in the league, McDaniels is averaging 6.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, and is shooting 38.7% from the floor in about 25 minutes per game this season.

Taurean Prince is not a player that the Houston Rockets would be interested in, so he could get re-routed to a third team in this deal with Minnesota, but he is in the final year of his contract and acts as a “salary relief” type of player in this trade.
Christian Wood has been fantastic in Houston and with their need for another frontcourt talent, he could slide into a very important role next to Towns in Minnesota.
This team is proving that they are ready to win games now and going after Wood would definitely put the rest of the league on notice.

With four high-level scorers, the Minnesota Timberwolves would be able to spread the ball around with ease and they could quickly turn themselves into one of the best rebounding teams in the league seeing as both Christian Wood and Karl-Anthony Towns are both double-double threats in the frontcourt.
The Timberwolves do not have a great chance at landing Wood in a trade, much like every other team in the league, but they do have young assets that they can offer up to put together a somewhat intriguing offer.
