Simply moving on from Kemba Walker is something the New York Knicks need to accomplish with him being removed from the rotation altogether.

The type of return the Knicks would get for Walker likely will be underwhelming considering his injury history and he has another season of guaranteed money on his current contract.

Jeremy Lamb is playing on an expiring contract and would clear salary cap spending room for the Knicks to utilize in the offseason. New York could better reconfigure their roster as a result.

Lamb is a negative on-ball defender and probably would drive Tom Thibodaeu crazy at times, but this is mostly a financial move. He is a wing with size that can convert from deep. That skill-set has a better outlook as a stopgap than a player already removed from the rotation.
