Coby White
If the Knicks look to bring in another guard either at the expense of Kemba Walker or someone else, Coby White is one of the first names they should inquire about. The 21-year-old guard is in his third season with the Bulls and is coming off of offseason shoulder surgery, but has shown flashes of being a multi-talented offensive guard in this league.
With Lonzo Ball being the starting point guard, plus the fact that Alex Caruso is also in Chicago now, Coby White’s minutes have dropped slightly, but he is still a dynamic combo-guard that can “flip the switch” at any time on the offensive-end of the floor.
Last season, White averaged 15.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists and shot 41.6% from the floor, 35.9% from three-point range while starting in about 78% of the games he played in for the Bulls. He is still working his way back from his shoulder injury, but Coby White could be an immediate boost to New York’s offensive game plan.
Seeing as the Bulls and Knicks are battling each other a lot this year and jockeying for playoff seeding, it is unlikely that these two teams could come to terms on a potential deal centered around the young guard, but he is someone the Bulls could look to move this season.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Knicks Expected To Trade Kemba Walker Ahead Of Deadline
Having just one year left on his contract after this season, Coby White is a player Chicago may not be able to afford to keep long-term, hence why they could look to leverage him now. His status is definitely one to keep track of in Chicago and the Knicks have a lot of gain by adding a player of White’s caliber to their backcourt in lue of the Kemba Walker news.
