Terrence Ross – Orlando Magic

While they made a lot of trades last season near the deadline, the Magic may not be done making moves yet during their rebuilding process, as some key veterans still remain on their roster.

Gary Harris and Michael Carter-Williams are definitely players the Magic could look to trade at some point, but so is veteran wing Terrence Ross.

Since joining the Magic during the 2016-17 season, Terrence Ross has averaged 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and has shot 35.4% from long-range in Orlando, making him a key bench talent that could immediately help several playoff-contending teams around the league, especially the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Believe it or not, the Cleveland Cavaliers have a chance to earn a spot in the playoffs this year via the play-in tournament, but they are going to need a little bit more talent on their roster to do so, especially given that Sexton is out for the year.

Their starting-unit seems to be surviving without Collin Sexton, but their bench is still one of the worst in the league, as Cleveland is only averaging 32.2 bench points per game, ranking them 24th in the league.

Adding a guy like Terrence Ross could be very valuable to this team not only because of his experience, but because he can be another high-level bench talent like Ricky Rubio. He is another scorer that they can depend on in whatever capacity they need him for and Ross knows what it takes to win games.

The now 10-year veteran has been to the playoffs multiple times in his career and the most important thing he brings with him to Cleveland is the fact that he is an experienced player.

Both he and Ricky Rubio could do so much on and off-the-court for this young group the Cavaliers have assembled, which is why this trade is worthwhile.

Terrence Ross’ scoring output off-the-bench can be the difference in the Cavaliers winning or losing multiple games this season and for a team “on-the-bubble” right now in terms of making the playoffs, this is a risk they have to be willing to take.

What the Cavaliers would have to give up to acquire Terrence Ross is definitely a key question that needs to be answered, but it is hard to imagine that they could not a get a deal done involving someone like Dylan Windler and a second-round pick.

Verdict: Pursue
