Coby White – Chicago Bulls
After undergoing offseason shoulder surgery, Coby White did not make his season-debut with the Bulls until mid-November, but he is starting to look more and more comfortable out there on the floor.
White has come off-the-bench in eight of the nine games he has played in thus far and while he is averaging just under 18 minutes per game, the third-year combo-guard could once again give this strong looking Bulls team even more depth in the backcourt.
However, Coby White’s future in Chicago is definitely in question because he has one year left on his rookie contract after this season and the Bulls just brought in both Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso in the offseason. Not to mention, they also have rookie Ayo Dosunmu, who played really well in White’s absence from the team.
Trading Coby White is something that seems to be gaining more and more traction as we inch closer to 2022 and the Cavaliers would definitely be smart to have White on their radar.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jarrett Allen Reveals Motivation For Returning To Cavaliers
Collin Sexton being out for the rest of the year really limits the Cavaliers’ backcourt depth and they need another ball-handler outside of Garland and Rubio.
Coby White can not only be a primary ball-handler for this team, but it is what he can do off-the-ball that makes him a great fit next to Darius Garland on this team. Last season, White averaged 15.1 points per game and shot 41.6% from the floor, 35.9% from three-point range.
His catch-and-shoot abilities on the perimeter would open up a lot more space in the lanes for guys like Markkanen, Mobley and Allen, as well as provide the Cavaliers with another three-point shooting threat next to Garland and Osman.
The Cleveland Cavaliers currently rank 19th in the league in team three-point shooting percentage (33.6%), which is why going after Coby White is a smart idea for them.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jarrett Allen Reveals Motivation For Returning To Cavaliers
He has proven to be a reliable shooter on the perimeter and whether it is in the starting-unit or off-the-bench, there is no doubt in my mind that White could prove to be a real asset over the next two seasons in Cleveland, even when Sexton returns from his injury!
