How This Trade Impacts Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder have done an excellent job of cashing in on veterans in recent seasons, turning them into future draft assets. This is another chance for them to do so, acquiring a player such as Bol Bol from the Denver Nuggets.
Bol has an intriguing blend of skill and size but has not received a chance to play with the Nuggets. He has played all of 199 minutes in 14 games this season despite the injuries that the team is dealing with.
Oklahoma City would certainly find playing time for him as they are looking for any high-upside players they can get their hands on. They are still in asset collection mode of their rebuild and Bol would be a good player to take a chance on.
Adding two future second-round picks would be a drop in the bucket for the Thunder. Sam Presti has done an excellent job stockpiling draft picks and this is the exact kind of situation that they do it for; to acquire a young player with upside that just hasn’t gotten a chance yet.
