1. Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks were one of the teams people were keeping an eye on this season. After making a surprising run to the Eastern Conference Finals in last season’s postseason, they had aspirations of doing it again.
Thus far this season, they haven’t looked anything like the team that made that run in the playoffs. They have struggled with some inconsistencies on the second unit and injuries are playing a part once again.
Set to be without De’Andre Hunter for an extended period once again, the Atlanta Hawks could start feeling some pressure to make a move. Hunter is their best perimeter defender. Already struggling on that end of the court with him in the lineup, things could get even uglier with him sidelined.
The Atlanta Hawks were one team looking to possibly consolidate some assets this season. Currently with a record of 5-9 outside of the NBA Play-In Tournament in the Eastern Conference, could they push to make a move for Ben Simmons?

Ben Simmons would help turn the team’s defense around, giving them someone they can pair with Trae Young in the backcourt to cover up his deficiencies. Young could also play off the ball more, providing him with some easier scoring opportunities with a playmaker as good as Simmons alongside him in the starting five.
If Atlanta doesn’t shake out of their funk soon, expect them to look into making a deal that will help them right the ship and get back on the track they were on last season after Nate McMillan took over head coaching duties from Lloyd Pierce.
