Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
After a shaky start to the season, the Indiana Pacers have worked their way back to 4-7 and look like a team who could be one to keep an eye on in the Eastern Conference. They missed the playoffs last year, but at full-strength, this is definitely a team that could create some headaches for top-tier teams in the conference.
Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis are both All-Star talents when fully healthy and both Caris LeVert and T.J. Warren are really solid secondary scorers on the wing. Even rookie Chris Duarte has stepped up into a big role for this team early on in the year!
Trading Myles Turner is definitely a possibility and while Kyrie Irving is a great talent, the Pacers would not really have much to gain from this trade. The last thing they want is negative media attention coming their way after all that they dealt with a season ago and with Brogdon, McConnell, LeVert, and Duarte, they really do not need a player like Irving.
They could simply move Brogdon over to the shooting guard position and shorten their rotations in terms of making things work in their frontcourt without Turner there, but this trade does not really fit what the Pacers have been aiming for over the years.

Kyrie Irving is a fantastic player, but his fit with guys like Malcolm Brogdon, Domantas Sabonis, and others is definitely questionable. There are more affordable players available in trade talks who would fit the Pacers system much better than Irving would, which is why Indiana should not be pursuing the Brooklyn Nets’ All-Star.
