Cam Reddish has emerged as a trade piece over the last year in Atlanta for the Hawks. He fits the bill in today’s NBA but has not been able to flourish in Atlanta because they have depth at his position. This is not going to change as the Hawks have set their plan in motion already.
When looking at the return, the Hawks would take a chance on Hampton. He is another unknown player who could have a high ceiling in the league.
Unlike Reddish, the chance taken on Hampton comes with a bit less pressure. He is a low-risk player that would have a chance to develop at his own pace.
Atlanta would also get back some draft capital and this is the main intrigue. There have been some rumors that Reddish could bring back a first-round selection, potentially in the lottery depending on who is making the deal.
