1. Karl-Anthony Towns

If the Phoenix Suns are not going to retain Deandre Ayton, they will have a big hole to fill in the middle. Ayton isn’t at an All-Star level yet, but he is a key cog in the team’s operation. Replacing him will be easier said than done.

If the team wants to maximize their championship window, they should give a call to the Minnesota Timberwolves and try prying Karl-Anthony Towns away from them.

Towns has repeatedly said he wants to help turn things around in Minnesota and play with one team his entire career. But, if the opportunity presented itself to play with a legitimate contender, it would be hard to turn down.

The Suns would have one of the best young duos in the league with Towns and Devin Booker. The two are good friends and the idea of them playing together is something that has been discussed and tossed around previously.

They would be a devastating duo for defenses to handle on a nightly basis. Booker is as smooth as it gets from the shooting guard position and Towns is arguably the best offensive center in the league.

Acquiring him will not be cheap, but the Suns could start their package with Ayton. If the Timberwolves are going to move on from Towns, they would assuredly like a potential franchise centerpiece back in return and Ayton could fit that bill down the road.
