Phoenix Suns Receive: F Davis Bertans, 2026 Second-Round Pick, 2027 Second-Round Pick
Washington Wizards Receive: F/C Dario Saric, F/C Jalen Smith
It has been highly difficult for the Washington Wizards to receive the expected impact from Davis Bertans since signing his contract.
Bertans is averaging just 16.9 minutes per game to begin the season, which is the lowest mark he’s received since the 2017-18 season as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. It’s clear, the Wizards need to move on, it’s just a matter of how to do it.
It’s not easy to move an unfavorable contract as the one Bertans holds. Would the Wizards be willing to take on the deal of a player who is out with a season-ending injury in Dario Saric? How about if the No. 10 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Jalen Smith, were included?
