This Suns-Wizards Trade Gives Davis Bertans Fresh Start

Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Davis Bertans, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The defending Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns have gotten off to a bit of a slow start this NBA season. They have yet to find their consistency, beginning the season 1-3 until defeating four teams with losing records to pull off a four-game winning streak.

A soft spot in the schedule will help, as they have won two in a row against the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans. A matchup with the Houston Rockets follows as they are in the midst of a five-game homestand, so the team can start gaining some momentum.

Thus far they have been slightly below average on both ends of the court. They are currently ranked 20th in offensive rating and 17th in defensive rating. Their 3-point shooting has gone AWOL to begin the season, which is stagnating their offense.

As a team, the Suns are making only 31.6 percent of their attempts, which is tied for 24th. Their nine 3-pointers made per game is last in the NBA and the 28.5 they attempt per game is second to last.

Low-volume and low-efficiency is a bad combination in the modern NBA and the Suns will have to fix that. They have plenty of excellent shooters on the team, so they will turn it around eventually. But, could they look to make a move for another one?

Davis Bertans is someone that could be on the move as the Washington Wizards sharpshooting big man has seen his role decrease significantly this season. Here is a hypothetical deal that would land Bertans in The Valley.
