Would this trade make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers?

The Los Angeles Lakers have added plenty of pieces over the last two years to bring the team to championship level. Since LeBron James came to town, the front office has been extremely aggressive to build a team that can become a dynasty. Marvin Bagley III would be an intriguing addition because of his overall potential.

Bagley III has not lived up to his potential in Sacramento but that is a difficult place to build success. The Kings are not a franchise on the rise and this has some players stuck in limbo.

The Lakers are on the other side as they can develop Bagley III. There are few places better for a young big man to go than to learn from the likes of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

Bagley III does not play this position but even Carmelo Anthony’s veteran presence is valuable for a 22-year-old looking to take the next step. Bagley would be able to come off the bench and contribute on both ends. There would not be much pressure for him to improve.

This is a deal that could add another productive player to Los Angeles. If he is ever able to take that next step and become a star, the Lakers would certainly benefit from this trade.
