How This Trade Impacts Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks had the looks of a team that would be explosive offensively but could struggle to slow people down defensively. At the onset of the season, it is quite the opposite, as Dallas is struggling to score but playing excellent defense.
Jason Kidd has struggled to game plan a good offensive approach thus far as Dallas has some good offensive weapons. But, you can never have enough floor spacers, which the Mavericks would be acquiring in this hypothetical deal in the form of Terrence Ross.
Ross is instant offense off the bench. He would give the team a go-to scorer with the second unit, especially if the move of Jalen Brunson to the starting five remains permanent.
Brunson is currently tied for second on the team with 15 points per game, so a move to the starting five would cripple the scoring production from their bench.

Kidd would have some excellent small-ball options adding someone as explosive as Ross to the mix. Signed through 2023, he wouldn’t be a rental either, which would make him a little more expensive but worth the price for Dallas.
