Is Donovan Mitchell’s Ankle Remains A Concern?
What is a concern though is his health pertaining to his ankle. At the end of the first half against the Sacramento Kings on November 2, Mitchell appeared to roll his right ankle and it was later said that the All-Star suffered a sprained right ankle.
While he downplayed the injury and stated it was not related to the same ankle injury he suffered last season that kept him out 16 games near the end of the year, Donovan Mitchell did in fact miss last night’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, one the Utah Jazz won 116-98 in Atlanta.
As of right now, this does seem like just a mild ankle sprain and something that will have Mitchell day-to-day, but ankle injuries early on in the season can be tricky, especially when the player has had a history of ankle rolls.
The Jazz and Mitchell do not seem too concerned about this injury and he is expected to return to action sooner than later, but the health of Donovan Mitchell is going to be a key storyline to monitor all season long.

In order to be a championship contender, the Jazz needs Donovan Mitchell healthy and playing at a high level because he is one of the most electric players in the entire league.
When he gets going, it is almost impossible to stop Mitchell on the offensive end of the court, and with no other elite-level playmakers/scorers on this roster, Utah’s only chance to contend for a title is to have the young guard healthy.
