While Simmons is appearing more likely to rejoin the group and play in regular-season games than ever before, this situation could get uglier moving forward if the two sides do not part.
When looking at this return, it is a no-brainer when looking beyond the desire to land a superstar like Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal. The 76ers would benefit immediately from getting rid of Simmons and adding backcourt pieces that can put the ball in the basket. Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson fit the bill right away.
Conley has the veteran experience needed for a win-now team. He would be able to take over at the top of the offense. He has also proven he can play off the ball during his time in Utah. Clarkson has taken the next step as a bench scorer and the Sixers would be able to use him all throughout a game.
