Would this trade make sense for the Sacramento Kings?
The Sacramento Kings appear to be headed toward a situation where it makes sense to blow it up once again. This is a team that is not going to win this season and there is no end to their playoff drought coming up.
If failure persists, the Kings could look to send away big names and Harrison Barnes is all of a sudden at the top of the list, especially given his strong start to the season. He is posting averages of 26.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while going 51.4 percent from the floor and 51.5 percent from deep.
The Kings would be wise to capitalize on Barnes’ elevated value in order to land an asset and a younger player that better aligns with the timelines of Davion Mitchell and Tyrese Haliburton, who appear to be the right pieces to build around going forward.
Andrew Wiggins has yet to find a consistent home and it could be in Sacramento in an extended role for the time being. However, the team would still have work to do in terms of trading away Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley III.

Making an NBA trade scenario of this kind is not a move that will get the Kings to a championship but it is one that would land them a piece for the future. Barnes is not that piece so a trade seems like the best-case scenario.
