There has still been no real resolution when it comes to the situation between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers. Simmons has at least reported to the team, but there is still no timetable for him to return to the court.

In a meeting with head coach Doc Rivers and his teammates last week, Simmons revealed that he wants to play, but he is not yet mentally ready to do so. When he will be ready is anyone’s guess at this point as Simmons has some hurdles he needs to get over before returning.

The organization is holding out hope that Simmons will be happy enough to return to the team, but, there is still the possibility of a trade being made by the 76ers as well. They have a high asking price for Simmons, as they want a star in return.

Daryl Morey would love for a player such as Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal to become available in a trade. There are also some executives that believe it would make a lot of sense for the Golden State Warriors to pursue Simmons.

“If Golden State went after him, I think he’d fit in there really well,” one executive told HoopsHype. “Can you imagine him with those shooters out there, and he’s playing defense, rebounding and pushing the ball, running, gunning, and finishing? He’d flourish in their style of play.”

The Golden State Warriors have some pieces to offer in a trade. James Wiseman, the No. 2 overall pick from the 2020 NBA Draft, could be included. The team made two lottery selections in this year’s draft, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, who could also be included. Andrew Wiggins would likely be involved to match money as well.

But, there would be some concerns with having two non-shooters in the lineup. Simmons is essentially an upgraded version of Draymond Green. Neither player offers much in the way of scoring and shooting but can have a big impact on the game in other areas.
