How this trade would impact the San Antonio Spurs?
The San Antonio Spurs are a franchise that is used to winning but has been unable to get back to the postseason recently. They have missed in each of the last two seasons and now do not have the veteran presence. San Antonio is going to rely on its young players but also needs to rebuild the frontcourt.
LaMarcus Aldridge was one of the veterans who left last season. The two sides agreed to a buyout and Aldridge quickly signed with the Brooklyn Nets, before being forced to retire. This was a necessary move for the Spurs but it left them extremely thin down low.
That is what Turner would improve. He led the league in blocks this season and showed that he is a true rim protector. Turner is improving on the offensive end and would only be helped by Murray and Johnson.
The Spurs have a strong core in place in the backcourt and Turner could be that piece down low.

Gregg Popovich is used to having elite big men and knows how to coach with them in the rotation. Turner would be entering a system that fits him well and that makes this deal beneficial for both sides.
