Starting the 2021-22 NBA season 0-1 is definitely not what the Indiana Pacers had envisioned when they were up 21-points in the second half against the Charlotte Hornets, but the good thing for them is that this was just one game. This loss does not define the Pacers’ season, but it could very well be a “foreshadow” of what’s to come for them.

For years now, the Pacers have looked to be a strong team in the Eastern Conference, but injuries and internal dysfunction have limited their abilities to do anything come the later months of a season.

The Pacers have not made it out of the first round of the playoffs since 2014 and while they made the playoffs five consecutive years heading into last season, they failed to reach the playoffs entirely last season!

Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, T.J. Warren, Caris LeVert, and Myles Turner make up a very strong looking core in this league, but these five guys have all yet to play with one another on the court because of injuries.

Depending on how the first few months of the season go, the Indiana Pacers could realistically look to hit the “reset” button and look to add more overall talent to their roster.

This could result in Indiana looking to trade one of their core players and Myles Turner seems like the “odd-man-out” right now because of the fact that he is replaceable.

Other than being a reliable shot-blocker and rebounder, Turner does not hold much of a role on this team and his contract is very tradeable, as he is only owed $35M through the next two seasons (including this year).

If they make the defensive big man available in trade talks this season, the Pacers will have plenty of teams calling them to inquire about a potential trade and one of those teams could wind up being the Los Angeles Clippers.

Coming off their first-ever trip to the Western Conference Finals, the Clippers are still looking to prove that they are a championship contender, but they will have to do so with Kawhi Leonard, who is currently rehabbing from a partial ACL tear.

The Clippers may not have a lot of assets to offer up in a potential trade right now, but by bringing in the Sacramento Kings, they may be able to pull off a trade to acquire Myles Turner.

Let’s take a look at a three-team trade between the Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, and Sacramento Kings that is just crazy enough that it may just work for all three teams involved.
