Chicago Bulls
With the additions of DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, and others this offseason, the Chicago Bulls are definitely going to be a competitive team in the Eastern Conference all year long, but in order for them to lock up a playoff spot this year for the first time since 2017, they are going to need some frontcourt help.
Nikola Vucevic is an All-Star center, but he cannot carry this team down-low by himself. Plus, Vucevic is not really a traditional big man, as while he is a double-double machine, but he tends to spend a lot of time on the perimeter offensively.
Having a true low-post threat and “bruiser-like” big man like Derrick Favors could really go a long way in making the Bulls not just a better rebounding team, but a better defensive team as well.
Defense is where all the question marks lie for the Chicago Bulls this year and while he is not the best rim-protector, Favors is a big body that many in the league have had a hard time scoring against through the years because of his physicality.

The Chicago Bulls are tight on cap space right now and they do not have any trade exceptions to make bringing in Favors’ $9.7M contract easier on their end of things, but by midseason, they could look to move a guy like Derrick Jones Jr. if he is not fitting in with their system.
Jones Jr. is set to make $9.7M this season, making this potential move easy and effortless, or the Chicago Bulls could look to get other teams involved in a deal where they could look to trade away Troy Brown Jr. ($5.1M) or even Coby White ($5.8M). Chicago needs to add a little bit more talent in the frontcourt and Derrick Favors would definitely be a strong addition for them.
