Would this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?
It is no secret that teams in the NBA have to load up on stars if they want to compete. We have seen plenty of super teams created in order to win championships. The Minnesota Timberwolves might not have that option but they could continue to add more talent and star power in the rotation.
Grant put up 22.3 points per game in Detroit last season. He proved that he could be the focal point of an offense. With two years left on his deal, this is the time for Detroit to make the move as they try to develop young talent. Minnesota could take advantage by adding an elite player on both ends of the floor.
Grant is a ‘3-and-D’ player that could get it done in many ways. Minnesota would be able to throw an intriguing rotation on the floor if Grant is teamed with Towns and Russell.
They would have to part ways with one of their top perimeter threats but would be getting a lot more back because of Jerami Grant’s work on both ends of the floor.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have made the postseason just once since 2015 — a trend they are trying to change and it will be difficult to do so in the Western Conference. Making a move for Grant is a chance to continue to improve the roster moving forward.
