There’s No Coming Back For Ben Simmons

The only thing Ben Simmons wants at this point is to be traded and that is something the 76ers are still looking to do, but are going to be unable to do at this point since no team is going to be trading their All-Star at the beginning of the season.

There is still a chance that Ben Simmons could be traded this season, likely closer to the trade deadline, but right now there is no end in sight to this toxic environment.

“I’m not here to babysit,” Embiid started after the team’s practice on Tuesday in regards to the Ben Simmons situation. “At this point, I don’t care about that man, honestly. He does whatever he wants. That’s not my job. … I’m only focused on trying to make the team better, win some games, play hard every night and try to lead the guys that we have here.”

While he has shown up to practices the last few days, reports surfacing from these practices have said that Ben Simmons is not engaged at all and the second the final buzzer/whistle goes off, he leaves the facility to go do his own things. Ben Simmons does not care anymore and the 76ers should not either.

Of course, they should do their best to salvage any kind of value they can in regards to a potential trade, but they need to lower their asking price. Ben Simmons does not want to be there anymore and they should not want him on their roster anymore because he is destroying this team’s morale from the inside.
