Ben Simmons
There has been some progress made on the Ben Simmons front with the Philadelphia 76ers. The sides communicated and Simmons returned to the team, reporting last week in preparation for the season.
Now, it is anyone’s guess if Simmons gets on the court for the 76ers again. He has returned to practice, but that could be so he can recoup some of the money that he was losing from his hold out.
The 76ers should still be looking to trade Simmons away, but they will have to lower their asking price if they want to make a deal. Daryl Morey has been asking for the moon in return packages and no teams have blinked.
There are plenty of teams interested in acquiring Simmons. 10 teams have engaged in trade talks with them, including the Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Indiana Pacers.

Ultimately, Simmons will be traded. It is anyone’s guess when they may occur, but he will be moved eventually. The 76ers are going to hold out hope that they can land Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal in a deal, but that won’t happen this time around.
Instead, they will trade him to the Sacramento Kings, getting back a package that includes some young players and draft picks. It will help keep them competitive and contending this season, but also give them the flexibility for the future to make another splash deal to bring another star to the City of Brotherly Love.
