How Russell Westbrook has struggled so far
Mr. Triple-Double has done well on the glass and with his playmaking. In his three games, he has 19 total rebounds and 15 assists. But even in that, there lies another problem.
Russell Westbrook has turned the ball over an astonishing 20 times. He has played only 71.7 minutes thus far in the preseason, so that is certainly a troubling turnover total. If it is possible to take a silver lining from this, it is that Westbrook also struggled in the preseason with the Houston Rockets.
Joining a new team is never easy, but when there are as many new faces as there are on the Los Angeles Lakers, it is even more difficult. At this stage in his career, Westbrook gains very little from playing in the preseason. It is something James recently discussed, saying practice time is more valuable than the preseason games.
While that may be true, the Lakers would assuredly have preferred seeing some positives during the preseason. They are currently 0-5, losing four out of the five games by double-digits.
