How Russell Westbrook has struggled with the Lakers so far

It will take a lot of sacrifice from all three players to make this work. They are all used to having the ball in their hands but for the team to win games, they will have to adjust their style of play a little bit.

Head coach Frank Vogel doesn’t believe it will be a problem. He thinks that Westbrook’s time with the Houston Rockets will only help him assimilate himself to the Los Angeles Lakers. But, thus far, it has been a rocky road.

It is hard to extract anything from preseason games because, at the end of the day, they are exhibitions. There are players receiving minutes in these games that won’t even be on the opening night roster next week once the games start to count for something.

But, the early results will have some people concerned. Through three games, Westbrook has struggled mightily.

Things need to be taken with a grain of salt in the preseason, but you would at least like to see some progress being made. Thus far, it has been a struggle for Westbrook in the purple and gold.

It is concerning seeing how poorly he is shooting the ball. Westbrook is currently 7-for-28 from the field. The only positive is that he is 3-for-8 from the 3-point line. However, that is concerning in itself that 28.6 percent of his shot attempts are from 3-point land.
