Devin Vassell – San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have regressed greatly over the years and they are currently rebuilding to try and recapture some of their championship ways, which is why they will be looking to get the most out of their young talents.

Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV, and Keldon Johnson are getting a lot of attention, but people need to start paying attention to Devin Vassell.

Drafted 11th overall in 2020, Vassell played here and there during his rookie season, but he will almost definitely step up into a larger role during his second season in the league.

The Spurs are looking to see what they have in their young players and with DeRozan and Gay now gone, the Spurs are going to need guys to step up on the wing.

Not only did he play well in Summer League this year, averaging 16.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and shooting 34.8% from the floor, but Devin Vassell has also been solid coming off the bench in the preseason, averaging 8.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game so far through four preseason games.

Possessing a 6’10” wingspan and having the ability to be an above-average three-point shooter, the Spurs will definitely give Vassell opportunities to prove himself this season. Year 2 in the league will be a big one for the former Florida State product as he looks to cement his spot in the Spurs’ core for the future.
